The first thing you need to understand, is that courage is sexy. So it’s going to take courage to be more confident, and to be confident at anything requires skill, competence.

How do you get competence?
You practice, and how do you practice? You start. How do you start? You have the courage.

So you don’t go out and talk to the hottest chick in the bar. First of all, you’re probably not going to meet her there anyway, you’re probably going to meet her at a coffee shop, so just disregard the bar thing. But start with something that’s manageable, a little bit out of your comfort zone. If you are super shy right now and you have a difficult time making eye contact, then start practicing making eye contact with people in general. Not hot girls, just normal people.

Start by saying hi and smiling. Whatever it is that is a little bit beyond your comfort zone, start there, get really good at it and then move to the next step.

When you want to cancel a date like a true gentleman, or lady, the main thing is don’t make assumptions, make sure it’s legit and be nice about it.

The first thing is, you must have a legitimate reason, such as death, or an accident or dismemberment. If you’re just too busy, or you’ve worked too hard, or you’re kind of tired, that’s not going to cut it. Do you want to meet this person or not?

The next thing is you message the other person and say, can I talk to you, is, when is a good time to chat? Because you want to cancel this date by talking to the person in real life. There’s way too much that can be misconstrued. People get assumptive when you’re texting the message, and it just takes a lot more courage, whether you’re a man or a woman, to actually call a person, in person, to cancel a date, or to reschedule. This reflects on a potential future relationship and how tough situations would be managed.

Rejection Sucks – Tips for What to Do When You Get Rejected

So, you finally gathered up your courage, and… got rejected? Right, first thing you need to do is refocus your thinking. You want to retrain your brain.

When I used to sell real estate, I would make a hundred calls a day, most of those were no’s… it was a numbers game.

So I’d either call a hundred, or till I got to a yes. So there was a lot of rejection and I used to think, okay, every no was closer to yes.
